Rasaleela(2012)&Similar Themes

“Rasaleela” was surely a poor movie in Malayalam Cinema which had an old and loose script, directed poorly by Majeed Maaranchery. Keeping the criticisms of this widely criticized venture intact, here are few movies with a similar theme, which may have been an inspiration for the writers of this bore project.  Rasaleela (1975)  In this flick also,Unni Maya (Jayasudha), a widow in a big tharavadu, develops a fondness for Devan (Kamal Hasan), who has accompanied a godman, who has been called in to get rid of the bad omens that surround the family. Unarchigal (1976)  In this project, Selvam (Kamal), an 18 year old simpleton who works in a small village is sexually harassed by his landlord's sister, a widow.    But despite of all the above references having similar subjects, “Rasaleela” will be remembered as a week movie which marks the coming together of the next generation of talents—-Sanjay Chowdhary (son of composer Salil Chowdhary),Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma (son of lyricist Vayalar Rama Varma) and Vijay Yesudas (son of singer K. J. Yesudas).  .
