Boogie Nights(1997)-(Movies To See Before You Die-Drama)

Paul Thomas Anderson’s not so famous classic about a  young nightclub dishwasher, Eddie Adams (Mark Wahlberg), who becomes a popular star ofpornographic films, chronicling his rise in the Golden Age of Porn of the 1970s through his fall during the excesses of the 1980s.  Admittedly though Boogie Nights is not considered among the best works of Paul Thomas Anderson, but in my opinion it has the power to communicate the truth in an amusing manner and should be rated as a masterpiece, may be less than the other classics directed by the maestro.
Based on an engaging storyline, the film shows the young man's adventures in the Californian pornography industry of the late 1970s and early 1980s.Eddie Adams would have been just another high-school drop-out had he not met the likes of adult film director Jack Horner.
It is a simple yet powerful film having a great social message, which makes you sit and await that what happens next with all the characters involved. Thoughtfully directed in an impressive and entertaining style, it truly shows you the vision films were conceived in that Golden Era of American Cinema by all the legendary directors and how they magically converted simple story ideas into meaningful ventures. Honestly speaking, Boogie Nights is a rare or lesser known  classic which tries to look into the human psychology through its insightful tale and thus remains a highly recommended Paul Thomas Anderson gem for all the lovers of such thought provoking cinema from the past.
