One word....Frightening!!!, it’s a remarkable film with both Keifer Sutherland & Alexandre Aja at their best. An entertaining movie on a new and unusual plot about an ex-cop and his family are the target of an evil force that is using mirrors as a gateway into their home.
I love when a movie really makes my hair stand on end, this one did it for me throughout. There are so many twists and turns, and the ending was very unexpected. All the characters were believable and Kiefer Sutherland's performance as the inwardly tortured ex-cop teetering on the edge of insanity was excellent.An innovative script shot beautifully with some superb performances.
If you rent this, definitely view the unrated version, I yelped out loud a few times. Indeed a commendable performance by the world famous perfectionist. Paula Patton also looks stunning as Amy Carson and provides the required glamour in an otherwise unusual plot. I would definitely put this in the category of supernatural horror guaranteed to scare the s___ out of you. It's really quite intense, and even though most horror movies don't really scare me (I actually laugh at most and find them to be more comical than scary), this is not a movie you want to watch just before going to bed. Another first from one of the most creative director in the world, Alexandre Aja. Strongly recommended for an entertaining family evening.
