Widely appreciated as one of the most intense and well made drama films without any sad imotional face, this is a Timothy Linh Bui’s masterpiece with Jessica Beil playing the lead with her complete conviction and control. In fact it is one of those pioneer hyperlink movies which is still considered as a benchmark for many more flicks to be made in this particular genre in the later years.
Four Los Angelenos -- a mortician, an ex-con, a suicidal ex-priest, and a stripper -- are brought together on Christmas Eve by a mixture of circumstances. It is Quite good, despite a few cheesy scenes.It was better than expected. Malayalam films lovers would also find echoes of many ‘newgeneration’s’ Hyperlink films in this movie as it surely has been a source of inspiration for many talented film makers all over the world. It definitely reminded me of "Crash" and especially "The air I breathe" with multiple story's, drama and the city atmosphere, it has a similar feel to it.And these final moments leave a powerful impact which stays with you for quite long after watching it.
A not to be missed film for all the drama genre lovers, waiting to get few quality shocks from a master film-maker.
