You may not have heard of this movie, even if you are in India and a big movie fan. Because here in our part of the world such deep and thought provoking cinema still gets a low profile and low promotion budget. And moreover English movies, in India are still not a hot project for the distributors. This is a similar kind of experimental movie which was well appreciated in the festival circuit and by the thinking viewers.
Directed by the actor, director Peter Segal, the movie brings out the hidden secrets of our society, the truth about our bitter relationships and the false identities of people within the families itself. The story revolves around Henry Roth is a man afraid of commitment up until he meets the beautiful Lucy. They hit it off and Henry think he's finally found the girl of his dreams, until he discovers she has short-term memory loss and forgets him the very next day. The film stars Adam Sandler as a woman-chasing veterinarian and Drew Barrymore as an amnesiac, along with Rob Schneider, Sean Astin, Lusia Strus,Blake Clark, and Dan Aykroyd. I really liked the liberties taken in the script about description of the human psyche. A very entertaining and enlightening movie about ourselves and our phony lifestyles. For all who love insightful movies with a novel concept, this would surely be a surprising but pleasant experience.
