August15(2011)&In The Line Of Fire(1993)

August15 is considered to be an original plot and innovative screenplay written in Mollywood.  I also was having the same opinion till I got to know about this movie from the late ninties called “In The Line Of Fire” (1993). Though this movie is considered to be a not so successful, low budget venture, but the theme has very acute similarities with the plot of “August15”. In both the movies a Crime Branch officer  who investigates into an attempt of assassination on the ruling government of state on the   Independence Day . Chek out at : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107206/ However I am sure that Shaji Kailas’ movie was much better of the both as it has the highly entertaining act of Mammootty along with Nedumudi Venu and Sidheeque. And I thoroughly enjoyed watching “August15”, with a sequel of August1?.
