Falling Angels(2003)-(Movies To See Before You Die-Independent)

An experimental and frank movie on a bold topic of the coming of age of three sisters and their struggle for independence in a dysfunctional family. Though it is based on a unconventional subject not appreciated by the society in the east, but still the movie is quite interesting due to the realistic performances by Callum Keith Rannie & Miranda Richardson. After all the irrational thinking, they still find it tough to part away with their own traditional upbringing. It is in fact very soothing and loving to see that at the end, they retain their moral values after facing a steep downslide in their characters. The initial minutes of the movie are also quite funny and well directed. A good experimental movie by Scott Smith and well shot in the limited budget frame.   Though I was told that it is highly inspired from "novel of the same name" released in 2001.
